Jet is very pleased to be able to let our clients and partners know that the Company is the first and only card manufacturer to achieve the highly regarded Sustainable Green Printer (SGP) certification. This certification was achieved through a significant amount of time and effort on the part of Jet and was driven by the dedication to being a leader in the industry, focusing on sustainability in the broadest sense and a commitment to continual improvement.
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership is a non-profit registration organization devoted to the promotion of
sustainable business practices in the print and graphic communications industry. The SGP guidelines were developed by a broad group of participants from printing and environmental backgrounds.
When asked about the accomplishment, President of Jet, Jeff Norby shared, "...we believe strongly in doing the right thing as a corporate citizen for our clients, our employees and our environment. Our values and strategic plans include sustainability in everything we do, and this certification solidifies and recognizes our continued efforts toward these goals. I am proud of our team and abilities to bring the best in card solutions to the industry while being the first card manufacturer to receive this high honor for sustainability".
To become a certified SGP Printer, a facility must demonstrate that it is in conformance with established program
criteria. The criteria encompass a holistic approach to sustainability, going beyond consumables and their
environmental impact. SGP Printers must meet all applicable environmental, health and safety requirements and
commitments, along with specific requirements relating to the establishment of a sustainability team; the
implementation of a sustainability management system (SMS); the use of SGP program metrics; taking specific steps to reduce the facility's environmental footprint; implementing pollution prevention activities; and committing to fundamental social and ethical norms.
